Fatigue

Sustainable Cleaning Solutions

You are the most important safeguard in protecting yourself and others while at work. When you are not able to fully focus and perform your duties correctly, you could be leaving yourself at a risk for injury. Being tired on the job is a major problem in Australia for workers. Fatigue leaves workers performing at lower levels and this exposes them to higher chances of an injury or an incident occurring. It is important to prevent fatigue while on the job to keep yourself and those around you safe.

• Fatigue carries an overall estimated cost of more than $136 billion per year to employers in health-related lost productivity.
• 1 in every 5 workers are sleep deprived.
• Poor sleeping habits lead to stress on the job.

• In a survey by Caremark Rx Inc. of 29,000 adults, 38% reported feeling tired at work in the last two weeks.

There have been a number of developments in the cleaning industry with more cleaning technologies, equipment and chemicals coming to market every day.

For example, some of the most exciting innovations include but not limited to diamond floor cleaning pads that use the abrasion of a microscopic diamond coating to intensely micro-polish surfaces, which allows to deliver up to 98% waste saving in the daily cleaning process.

Moreover, developments across cleaning technologies has also seen a move towards products that are much safer both for the environment and for people exposed to using them.

AM Retail Services implements a range of innovations to deliver more sustainable commercial cleaning solutions.

OH&S Updates

The next quarterly OHS meeting will be held on the 16th of November 2020 using Microsoft Teams run by Louie with AM Retail managers and employee representatives. There were no lost time injuries in September 2020 and no environmental incidents and no fines from regulators.
