Equipment hazards
It important to empty bins more regularly
Your employer does its best to keep equipment in good condition, but maintenance personnel are only human and can't keep up with all the problems in the field. Some defects will go unnoticed despite every effort made.
Those of you who work with and around machines and equipment are in a good position to notice hazardous conditions.
Get in the habit of reporting things that can lead to accidents so that corrections can be made before they result in costly accidents and/or employee injuries. Keep in mind that the person who sees a situation that should be fixed and fails to report it may well end up being the victim of his/her own neglect.
AM retail services would like to remind that organising and keeping your bins clean is important for several reasons:
- Bins get smelly in warmer weather: we’re sure you’ve smelt a bin that has been sat in a room too long, it isn’t a pleasant smell.
Flies and other insects will be attracted to the bin: no one wants an insect problem or lots of flies dancing around the office, as it can get very disrupting.
OH&S Updates
The next quarterly OHS meeting will be held on the 8th of November 2019 at our head office in Melbourne. There were no lost time injuries in October 2019 and no environmental incidents and no fines from regulators.
