Extension Cord Safety
Care and inspection of extension cords
Extension cords must be treated with care and checked regularly for damage or deterioration. The cord itself should never be pulled to disconnect it from an electrical source; remove it by the plug.
They should not be placed under rugs or furniture and should never be strung through doorways, windows, walls, ceilings, or floors.
Damaged cords present a potential fire or shock hazard and should be destroyed and replaced immediately.
Upholstery Cleaning
AM Retail Services provides upholstery cleaning to our clients. It is common that over time chairs and coaches become dirty greasy and dusty.
Don’t be among those who just put up with this - by using this service you can ensure that you chairs and other upholstery in your business and home stay looking their best with the furniture within them being very clean and tidy.
AM Retail Services use a special system that works thoroughly through the fibres to ensure all grime and dirt is removed, your upholstery will be looking as good and clean as new.
OH&S Updates
Our quarterly OHS meeting was held on the 21st February 2019 at our head office in Melbourne. Attendees involved the following AM Retail Services management staff, Louie Karanikolos (admin manager), Con Karanikolos (Area Manager) and George Gasparinatos (Area manager) and employee representatives Anastasia Gianoulas, Allen Farley, Voula Katsoulis, Jacqueline Brennan and Ivan Medina.
It was noted in the meeting that there were no lost time injuries, and the Tool box talk for January 2019 – Extension cord safety was discussed in great detail. It was also noted that there were no environmental incidents and no fines from regulators for the last 3 months.
The meeting also involved thorough analysis of our OH&S manual sections where there were no changes made by management since July 2018 and there were no suggestions during this meeting for any changes.
It was noted that our health and safety legal register was last reviewed on 10th April 2018 by AM Retail Services management and it was concluded that our company was in compliance with every legislation on our legal register by the Admin manager, Louie Karanikolos.
